Otherness is a photographic project created during the COVID-19 pandemic, from late 2020 to early 2021. It was made during the artist’s study of Photography at Faculty of applied Sciences, Ljubljana, under the mentorship of photographer Simon Chang. The project began as reportage photography but evolved into an exploration of the boundary between the conscious and subconscious. It investigates liminal spaces and dreamlike states, capturing the eerily empty streets of the small seaside town of Izola during lockdown. Through these quiet, suspended moments, the work reflects on solitude, altered perception, and the uncanny stillness of a world in pause.
